Destination Wedding Photographers | Kathy & Chris’ Cotton Field Engagement Session

I love this sweet couple from Washington D.C.  From the very first phone meeting we had I knew we would all be fast friends.  Kathy & Chris have been together since high school and have grown a love that is so beautiful you know it will withstand anything that comes their way.  Their relationship is built on a lifelong friendship, honesty and lots of laughs.  I simply adore couples like them.  Warm hearted, fun loving, quick to laugh and up for anything… can’t beat it.  When we were brainstorming their engagement session, Kathy really wanted something rustic that would remind Chris of his summers spent at his grandfather’s farm in Pennsylvania.  We talked it over and finally came up with the perfect rustic and southern location for them… A COTTON FIELD!!! We were so lucky to get there right before the crop was harvested.  The golden sunlight and welcoming sight of fluffy cotton balls drew us in and embodied rustic beauty better than we could have imagined.  We traipsed around the rows of cotton, explored the nearby little town and talked for hours.  I hardly realized we were working.  I so love how their session turned out.  We are so excited to see these guys again this weekend at their destination wedding in Sea Island, GA.  They will be saying their vows at one of our all time favorite venues, The Cloister at Sea Island.  Given Kathy’s love for shoes and all things pink, I’m sure this will be one stunning event and can’t wait to see all they have created!  Be sure to to check out the amazing ring Chris designed for her too.  Knowing Kathy’s soft spot for pink, he made sure to use pink diamonds to adorn the larger center stone.  It is gorgeous!  You really can’t beat a man who will design a custom ring just for his bride.  Kathy, he is definitely a keeper.  😉   See you two tomorrow!

Lots of love,

Mel & Brad
