I have to admit when Hillery told me how early in the morning I’d have to wake up to be at her wedding I was a little nervous. I’m not much of a morning person and the thought of having to start shooting at 7:30am was daunting to say the least. My fears were unfounded it turns out and I was surprised how much I ended up enjoying shooting an early wedding. Hillery & Ricky came fully prepared with tons of breakfast munchies and coffee for everyone to enjoy while getting ready for the ceremony. I was so surprised how relaxed and laid back everyone was. You’d think having to wake up so early to get ready would make some people grumpy, but not this bunch. Everything about this February wedding was perfect. We had gorgeous sunshine. Temperatures in the mid 60′s and a beautiful couple to shoot. What more could we have asked for? The ceremony was incredible, filled with songs, and readings by friends and family. Everyone was so welcoming and I can’t tell you how much I loved getting hugs from the flower girls and various family members. It truly makes my day when family and friends at a wedding welcome us as if they’ve known us for years. It makes our job so much more rewarding and creates a real connection through the photos when everyone is so happy to have us there. I seriously could have put Ryan, the littlest flower girl, in my pocket and taken her home she was just too cute! Jenna of Celebrate! and her team did an incredible job transforming the historic grounds of Club Continental into Hillery’s take on south beach modernism. After a beautiful morning ceremony and a fabulous early afternoon reception, we have concluded that we really do love shooting morning weddings. Especially when we get to work with such incredible people. We have enjoyed every minute of getting to know Hillery & Ricky and know their lives are going to be filled with twice the smiles and laughter as it once was now that these two families are combined.
Hillery and Ricky you guys make our hearts happy! We wish you all the joy two people can stand!
Lots of love!
