Summer in Florida is always a bit tricky. Afternoon thunderstorms are the norm and trying to coordinate a wedding around mother nature is never the easiest of tasks. Tara & Jeff knew they were up against the potential rain and extreme heat when they were planning their wedding. With this in mind, they made sure to keep the events indoors to avoid potential weather related pitfalls. Tara fell in love with the historic St. Andrew’s church downtown and knew it would be the perfect location for their summer wedding. Not only was it gorgeous but it was also indoors pumping cold air out for all the guests. Although the rain did come down, the day went off without a hitch. Jeff & Tara had the sweetest wedding party and the most timely group I think we have ever worked with. No one ran late, everyone was happy as could be, and everything was so smooth that I honestly had to keep checking myself to make sure I hadn’t forgotten something. It was a perfect day for a wedding.
Tara was beaming as she walked down the aisle on her brother’s arm. The thunder began to roar outside, but Jeff’s eyes were locked on his stunning bride and she was the only thought in his mind. It wasn’t but a heartbeat after the new couple exited the church that raindrops began to sprinkle down. Guests retreated to the reception as we all hurried back into the church to shoot the family formals. We had to do a little creative maneuvering to shoot Tara & Jeff’s portraits, but I love how they turned out. I think the rain added some romance to the day that the usual Florida heat would not have provided. The reception was filled with dancing, moving toasts by family and friends and so much love. I knew when we met Tara & Jeff that they were a remarkable couple, and after hearing the sweet words shared by those who know them best it is obvious that they truly are one of a kind. Tara & Jeff, you two are fantastic and we only hope that you fall more and more in love with every passing year. Thank you again for having us there to share in the joy of your wedding day.
