St. Simons Wedding Photographers | Rachel & Jason’s St. Simons Island Wedding

It was a smoldering afternoon in June when this beautiful couple from Atlanta exchanged vows in a small historic chapel on St. Simon’s Island.  Rachel & Jason had a vision for a sweet, simple, summer wedding at the beach with family and friends relaxing and enjoying one another’s company.  Without a doubt they achieved just that.  Elizabeth Ann Florist in Watkinsville, GA put together beautiful floral arrangements in fuchsia and lime green to compliment Rachel’s vibrant color palette.  Rachel’s sister and maid of honor, Haley, of Blondie Bakes, made the cakes and adorable homemade moon pie favors.   She and her fiance, Tim, are both incredibly talented pastry chefs and absolutely bowled us over with their creativity.  We are in love with Jason’s cereal inspired groom’s cake and it was recently featured as a top groom cake on theknot.com.  Since we are on the subject of Haley, you will notice that Rachel’s wedding day was even more special for her as there was a surprise proposal waiting during the reception.  Rachel asked Brad to use his sneaky ninja skills to follow Haley as she walked down the beach with Tim.  Little did Haley know that Tim was just about to ask her for her hand in marriage. Brad was there to capture it all as Tim got down on one knee on the shores of St. Simon’s.  She was absolutely beaming as they returned to the reception to share their good news with waiting friends and family.  After socializing and delicious lunch fare that showcased Rachel’s southern heritage along with Jason’s Asian roots, the couple was whisked away in a stunning 1940 Cadillac to enjoy eternity together.

We had so much fun documenting this wedding at the King & Prince Beach Resort that there were moments we forgot we were actually working.  Rachel & Jason, we are smitten with you both and are so thrilled to have been a part of your lives this past year.  We hope you both will enjoy decades of bliss as husband & wife and that you will always be surrounded with as much joy as you were on your wedding day.  Thank you again for making us laugh and introducing us to some of the yummiest southern treats we have ever eaten.

In love,

Mel & Brad

The delicious homemade moon pies by Blondie Bakes.  So perfectly southern.

How phenomenal are these cakes!?!?  Each corn flake was made by hand as well.  Incredible.

Tim & Haley’s big moment.

This shot is an absolute favorite of mine.  How adorable is she?!?
